Marigot is the capital of Saint Martin (the French side of the Island). Marigot is protected by the remains of Fort Louis on a hill overlooking the bay.
Marigot is the commercial centre of the French side of the Island with an open market and good french shopping. As with most French towns the streets are narrow and cars are everywhere.
