Anse Marcel

Saint Martin is the French half of the Island and is a commune of Guadeloupe, a Department of France. The French half of the island is the Northern half with most of the mountains and popular beaches.
The capital, Marigot is the main town and Sandy Ground (as it's name suggests) is a long stretch of holiday hotels with the sea on one side and Simpsons Bay lagoon on the other.
Grand Case is on the north side of the island and is where most of the best restaurants sit between the Beach and the narrow road through the town. The small beach and marina of Anse Marcel is sheltered from the Atlantic by Red Rock Hill but still suffers from the constant breeze. Orient Bay is a long stretch of golden sands buffeted by the Atlantic waves and the favourate of wind surfers, kite surfers and surf boarders. Those who prefer shelter from the wind and waves can swim, snorkel and shelter in the shadow of the small islands at each end of the bay.
