Finally we reached Warrnambool near the beginning of the Official Great Ocean Road. But before we set off on the official tour, we stopped to visit the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum at Lady Bay. The Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum includes a shipwreck museum and a recreated maritime village containing more than 30 individual buildings including a bank, school, church, a blacksmith, newspaper office, sailmaker, ship's chandler, lighthouse keeper's cottage and an inn. Each building is complete with original contents. This museum really does bring history to life.
