The Ryedale Folk Museum is an open air museum containing 13 historic buildings which show the lives of yorkshire folk from earliest times to 1953. The Museum lies in the heart of the North York Moors and contains rescued and reconstructed historic buildings including, shops, thatched cruck cottages, an Elizabethan manor house, barns and workshops.
One of the things that I liked most about this museum is the tools and utensils placed in position in the buildings. Few rural museums populate the houses and buildings so well. These pictures show some of the shops and workshops on display.
