Photographing castles in North East England could take a very long time. There are more castles
in Northumbria than in any other region of Britain. These are just some of the more common examples.
Most of the ones I have visited are traditional castles originally built at least 600 years ago with
a Keep and Bailey inside protective walls. Most are open to the public but some are still occupied.
I know that Cragside is much newer (Victorian) and not really a castle but it looks like one.
