Ely Cathedral

Modern Cambridgeshire was formed from the historic counties of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, together with the Isle of Ely and the Soke of Peterborough. The county town is Cambridge. Other important centres include Huntingdon, Ely and Peterborough.
The area is rich in history and boasts the famous University of Cambridge, the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell, majestic cathedrals and magnificent stately homes. It is also home to the Fens with lovely green, countryside and small English towns to visit with beautiful waterways.
