The 1,064 steps from Windwardside to the summit of Mt. Scenery should take between 2 and 3 hours to do the round trip. It's a strenuous climb. Proper footwear is a MUST, rubber-soled tennis shoes are best as the steps are often slippery.
The stairway to the top of the Mt. Scenery begins near Windwardside and winds its way upward through secondary rainforest to the Elfin Forest (remnant cloud forest at top). In theory there are views of the surrounding islands, but it's rainforest and usually covered in mist so if it isn't cloudy when you start, it will be by the time you get to the top.
