South Australia covers just less than 1 million sq km and has a total population of 1.5 million people.
The capital city is Adelaide and the area around the mouth of the Murray River is the most inhabited part of the state.

Adelaide is a dignified but friendly city with a countrified charm. The National Motor Museum is near by and is worth a visit and a drive down the coast to Victor Harbor and Granite Island is a nice way to spend a day.
